Abstract Submission Terms & Conditions
- All abstracts must be submitted in English.
- Only online submissions are accepted.
- Abstracts should contain original material not published or presented internationally.
- Presenting authors must register for the congress when submitting abstracts.
Themes
For review purposes, abstracts are required to be categorized into different themes as follows:
- Aortic Disease
- Peripheral Artery Disease
- Venous Disease
- Vascular Access
- Carotid Disease
- Vascular Trauma
- Others
Abstract Structure
1. Title: The title should indicate the abstract content. Company or trade names, special symbols, characters, and uncommon abbreviations are not permitted.
2. Type: You may select one of the following types of abstract:
- Poster Presentation
- Oral Presentation
- Case Submission Abstract
- Dialysis Access Competition
3. Content: Abstract body should not exceed 250 words.
a) Poster / Oral Presentation Abstract
Content must be organised in the following structure:
- "Objectives", "Materials and Methods", "Results", and "Conclusion".

b) Case Submission Abstract
Content must be organised in the following structure:
- "Case Background / History", "Problem / Complication", "Results", and "Conclusion".

c) Dialysis Access Competition
The abstract content must adhere to the format specified in the Competition Guidelines below.
4. Supporting Image/Graph/Illustration (Optional):
You may submit a supporting image, graph, or illustration for your abstract. This material will be considered for evaluation but will not be included in the Abstract Book or Journal.

Selection Process:
- Select "Dialysis Access Competition" as the Preferred Mode of Presentation during Abstract Submission
- Select the corresponding theme
- All contestants must register to attend ASVS 2025
- Shortlisted contestants will be invited for a Zoom presentation on 9th or 10th August 2025
- The Top 5 finalists will present their work during ASVS 2025, where two winners will be awarded the Grand Prizes
Theme 1: Best salvage for the worst complication
Contest information
- First round of competition: Present your case over a zoom webinar on 9 Aug 2025 (Saturday)
- Final round of competition: Top 5 contestants in the 1st round of competition will present again during ASVS main conference (29-31 Aug 2025)
Presentation guidelines - Present your case in 8 mins (including clinical videos & photos), followed by a 5 minutes Q& A with the judges.
- In your presentation, state the nature of the complication and demonstrate how this complication was being salvaged or resolved.
- Your presentation should include the following key aspects:
- Explain the complication & challenges
- Describe the treatment & management
- Describe the outcomes (immediate +/- intermediate term)
- Treatment could be open surgery, endovascular intervention or hybrid

Theme 2: Quality improvement programs to improve outcomes for vascular access
Contest information
- First round of competition: Present your case over a zoom webinar on 10 Aug 2025 Sunday
- Final round of competition: Top 5 contestants in the 1st round of competition will present again during ASVS main conference (29-31 Aug 2025)
Presentation guidelines - Present your case in 8 mins (including clinical videos & photos), followed by a 5 minutes Q& A with the judges.
- In your presentation, state the nature of the complication and demonstrate how this complication was being salvaged or resolved.
- Your presentation should include the following key aspects:
- Current issue / problem / challenges in your dialysis access service
- Content of the quality improvement project
- Impact of the quality improvement project (short and intermediate term)
- The quality improvement project can be new service, collaboration, logistics, workflow happened in the hospital, dialysis centers, national health authority or the community
